Welcome to the MSBC Trustee Ministry Information Page. We pray that this page provides some insight and answers questions you may have about our Ministry. General
Working closely with Pastor, Deacon Board and other ministries, the Trustee Ministry is responsible for managing the fiscal affairs of the Church, Subject to the rules, regulations and laws of the State of Oklahoma. The current Ministry is comprise of seven (7) members whose average membership service at Morning Star is over 48 years.
Mission
The Ministry's mission is to support the spiritual and ministerial goals and objectives of the Church by providing sound and reasonable business, finance, legal and property management oversight and direction that promotes long-term financial stability for all planned activities.
Responsibilities
The Ministry's specific responsibilities, as set forth in the church's By-Laws in Section 7 - Trustees, are as follows:
- Develop, present for approval, manage and report the Annual Operating Budget.
- Coordinate and represent MSBC in all legal issues and business matters.
- Manage all Church financial activities including banking, accounting and reporting contributions and banking issues related to federal and state requirement by law.
- Coordinate all personnel related activities for MSBC
- Coordinate purchasing and related contractual services for the Church.
- Responsible for managing property related issues including the purchase, sale, rental repair, replacement, security and improvements.
- Obtain and maintain adequate insurance coverage for MSBC facilities.

Meetings
The Ministry meets on the first Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise agreed to by its members. Meetings generally start at 6:45pm and end at approximately 8:30pm. All meetings are open to members of the Church.
Appointments and Qualifications
Recommendation for Trustees will be made by the Pastor. Trustees are appointed for a period of time not to exceed five (5) years with two (2) Trustees rotating off every two (2) years. Each year their appointment will renewed at the Annual Church Business Meeting. Members interested in becoming a Trustee should be Christ-like in character, exhibit good sound judgment, tithe regularly, active and participating in another ministry in the Church, willing to commit time to fulfill duties and possess an administrative, financial or business background and experience.
